The Strategic Research Index (SRI) is a data-driven analysis of how Swedish Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) conduct strategic research, i.e. being both of excellent international scientific quality while also being beneficial to Swedish society. Only HEIs that conduct significant research in Science, Technology, Engineering and Medicine are included. The SRI is based on data from ten indicators (in percentages, %), defining five main categories:
The SRI of an HEI is defined by SSF as a weighted mean value, where each category has equal weight, and each indicator defining a category has equal weight. Average values for all Swedish HEIs are shown for reference. The user can decide to not include one or more categories. If so, the resultant value is not SRI but is instead indicated by "Mean". The user can select an HEI for a one-page scorecard of this HEI. The data is here shown for all categories and indicators and for all included years. This scorecard might be helpful for further user analyses.
The SRI contains only indicators where objective data are publicly available. The indicator data come from three main sources:
From UKÄ (Swedish Higher Education Authority)
From the Scopus publication database
From the European Patent Office's PATSTAT database
